Moving on...

Ok, I think most of you are aware that after graduation I am taking a job with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), but you may not know where they are stationing me, so let me see if I can help ya'll out! I do not know yet when I will report; the NRCS will not assign a start date until they have transcripts in hand after graduation, so I am thinking middle of June roughly. I have a wedding that I am in (Jill's) at the end of May and one to attend on the 10th of June in Colorado, so I am hoping to move after that.

Anahuac, Texas (pronounced ana-whack) is a smallish town of about 2200 people located on the Gulf Coast of Texas. Anahuac sits between Houston and Beaumont, about an hour and a half, or so, from each (east and west). Anahuac is located just south of Lake Charlotte and just northeast of Trinity Bay which connects to Galveston Bay (north and south). Here's a map to illustrate (if it loads)...

On the map, Anahuac has the red star. Houston is the big city you can begin to see to the west and Galveston is just below the bottom of the map, past texas City and the I-45 hiway sign.

Anahuac was supposedly the location of the first shots fired in the Texas Revolutionary War with Mexico. Anahuac is also home to GatorFest!! The American Alligator, which I believe is still considered threatened in the state of Texas, is indigenous to that area (same as the ones we caught last weekend - see last blog entry).

Well, I'm not sure what else to tell you right now... I don't know much more myself. I am hoping to take a house searching trip while in San Marcos fro my brother's graduation on May 13th! I'll let you know as soon as I know more!!
